Configuring Secure Connections for Facebook
In January Facebook announced that it would support encrypted connections via HTTPS. You should definitely enable this option if you use Facebook from public Internet access points (think Starbucks).
To enable this feature, log into your Facebook account, select “Account Settings” from the “Account” menu on the top right. Under “Account Security“, click the change button and check the box that says “Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible” – then click “Save.”

Solid State Drives Difficult to Wipe Securely

Amazon.com Rewards Visa Voted Best Reward Credit Card
The Hive Five at Lifehacker recently voted on the best reward credit card and the Amazon.com card was the clear winner with 23.6% of the votes. The Amazon card was followed by the Costco American Express TrueEarnings card (18% of votes), Discover card (17.5% of votes), Chase Freedom card (16.6% of votes), and American Express Blue Cash card (13.9% of votes). Given that the participants in the voting were mostly computer geeks, this should probably be taken with a grain (or two) of salt. (more…)
